However, advanced infertility treatments in Germany have ensured that couples facing unintentional birth control have a chance at getting pregnant. Healthcare centers like EuroMedic Healthcare offer advanced infertility treatments to both men and women. Equipped with state-of-the-art treatments and qualified doctors, EuroMedic Healthcare is able to offer personalized and affordable care to its patients.
If you and your partner are unable to get pregnant in spite of repeated unprotected sex for over a period of at least a year, then you might be termed as infertile. Infertility might be the result of a number of factors or a single factor in either one of the partners.
As mentioned, infertility can be caused by a single factor or by a combination of a number of factors. Some of the common causes of infertility are:
There are advanced and affordable assisted conception or infertility treatments in Germany; these procedures bring the manipulated sperm into close proximity with egg cells. Some of the more common infertility treatments are:
In Vitro Fertilization, also known as IVF is a multi-step process. In this, the extracted eggs are fertilized with the sperm in a lab. After the embryos start to develop, more than just one is implanted into the uterus while the rest are stored for future use.
This treatment is especially suited for older women, for extensively damaged fallopian tubes, for severely scarred tubes from endometriosis, for men with low sperm quality and unexplained infertility.
Artificial Insemination or sometimes also knows as Intrauterine insemination (IUI), is a fairly simple procedure. In this procedure, a manipulated sperm is directly inserted into the uterus at the time of normal or induced ovulation. To insert the specifically treated sperm, doctors make use of a thin and flexible catheter. Most doctors also recommend that, in addition to this treatment, fertility drugs are also consumed so that the chance of fertilization increases.
Although this treatment is common and fairly simple, its success rate depends largely on the women’s age and the quality of the sperm. However, it works well for those women whose body has produced antibodies that act against their partner’s sperm. It is also effective for women whose cervical mucus is too thick, scarcely present or too acidic in nature.
Gamete Intrafallopian transfer or GIFT is an infertility treatment that helps fertilization take place in a natural environment. In this treatment, the mature eggs from the women are extracted and they are mixed carefully with the collected sperm from the male partner. The sperm and the egg are then mixed in a petri dish in a lab. This mixture is then placed directly inside the fallopian tube where fertilization is allowed to take place in a natural manner.
This treatment is used when the woman has one or both the fallopian tube not functional, where the male sperm count is poor or the quality of sperm is low, or when couples are facing unexplained infertility.
Intracytoplasmic Sperm injection or otherwise known as ICSI is used to treat infertility problems where low sperm count is the main cause for infertility. A solitary healthy sperm is then carefully selected from the semen. It is then injected into the egg using a very fine microscopic needle. Once the egg develops into an embryo, it is carefully transplanted into the uterus using the in vitro fertilization method.
This treatment is most useful when the male partner’s sperm count is very low or the quality of the sperm is poor.
Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer or ZIFT as it is otherwise called is also a multi-step process similar to In Vitro Fertilization. This treatment procedure differs in such a way that the eggs are extracted from the women and then fertilized with the sperm in an environmentally stable condition. Once the embryo starts developing, unlike in IVF where the fertilized embryo is deposited in the uterus, in ZIFT treatment, the embryo is deposited in the fallopian tube. Since the doctors fertilize the egg and sperm mixture and only deposit a zygote in the fallopian tube, the chances of multiple birth is reduced considerably.
This treatment method is most suited for women with ovulation problems, and men with low sperm count or quality.
These were some of the most commonly used infertility treatments; however, the success of these treatments not only depends on the use of advanced equipment but also on the quality of care and attention provided at the post- treatment stage. Medical centers like EuroMedic Healthcare are forerunners in providing efficient treatment and effective care during and after treating couples with infertility.
